Green day acoustic is hauntingly fabulous, and some say that they are straight out of the American punk movement of the 1980′s.
The band was formed in 1987 and began their journey to success. There music has taken many turns and twists and has recently hit a new revival interest in two thousand and six. Most people do not realize that the band has been around that long because they really did not enjoy any commercial fame until the mid nineteen nineties when MTV gave the band their biggest commercial break by playing one of their videos a lot of times on the air. With the proper exposure they took off like a shot although they had ten years of playing behind them.
Green Day, although they themselves do not claim to be a punk band, has taken plenty of criticism from die hard punk rockers. These well known artists have claimed that the band are posers that have taken a lifestyle and commercialized it. Green Day seems none the worst for the criticism.
There music has been hailed as unique and was before its time. The measure of their success has been the acoustic covers that have been produced of a few of their commercial hits.

Acoustic music is music that is played with out the benefit of any electronic intervention.
