You're just going to have to be patient is all. It's going to take you about 3 weeks to start to gain muscle memory in your hands. After all your hands and fingers have never moved in these awkward positions. It's kind of like learning to write all over again. Ugh! Right!? ;) Well, rest assured it will just take time. It seems tough now... But, it will get easier. :)

Hi Michelle,

You’re just going to have to be patient is all. My problem is, i think one that most novices face.. The Chords. I tried learning two at a time, but it's really hard to switch in between them. Any advice on how to try to perfect it would be appreciated. ps. I got my guitar two days ago so I'm pretty new.

ok..i thought the guitar would be easier than the piano…boy was i wrong. If you're just learning how to play guitar? Yeah, this is probably a little too advanced. Before you even begin to learn finger picking you need to learn the chords. You need to learn how to switch between chords G, C, D & Em. You need to be able to switch between these chords flawlessly.
Hopefully, you signed up for the 6 week course? If not? You need to. This will help you with what you need to do for absolute beginners. :)

Hi Kaileigh,

If you’re just learning how to play guitar? You'll be using the picking pattern through the first verse. Then you'll use this strumming pattern:
Strum: D D U U D U
1 + 2 + 3 + 4 +
Listen to the song and video tutorial over and over and it will become easier. :)

Hi Jacob,

You’ll be using the picking pattern through the first verse.
