Fergie | Big Girls Don’t Cry

You will probably have to practice this one a little bit since it does have some finger picking. However, the finger picking shouldn’t be to hard to get a hold of.

From Fergies’ The Duchess album of 2006 this song hit number one on the billboard charts and is still a popular song today.

Here Marty from GuitarJamz.com teaches you an easy way to play this song.

So, enjoy and practice. If you need any help leave your comments below :)

Jason Mraz | I Won’t Give Up

Although this is not a beginner song. It could be within your ability if you know how to play barre chords. I just love this song. It has all the makings of a hit.

Although the song might seem sad…. It however is about a couple who realize that all the hard work in a relationship is worth it. These types of songs always seem to hit home for a lot of couples. It probably won’t be as famous as “I’m Yours”. But, Jason Mraz hit this one out of the park.

Katy Perry | Last Friday Night t.g.i.f

Here’s a real easy song with a strumming pattern that you should be able to play quite easily. There are only 4 chords in the whole song. However, there is one barre chord. So, you’re going to have to practice switching from open to barre chords in this one. I do get many questions on alternatives to barre chords. My answer is this: Learn them and quit trying to avoid them. You will need them in your journey of learning the guitar. So, there ya go ;)

Coldplay | Paradise

With all the effects and digital sounds that Coldplay produces, it can be difficult to replicate their song on guitar, especially the acoustic guitar. However, if you can sing these Coldplay songs are great! The song has a very easy rhythm to follow and shouldn’t be a problem for the beginner. I will let you know though…. There is that dreaded barre chord! Barre chords tend to trip up the beginner. I can’t tell you how important they are to learn though.

Here Marty from GuitarJamz.com teaches the song using a capo that should put it in the realm of a beginner song.

Foster The People | Pumped Up Kicks

This song might be a little more suited for intermediate guitar players. However, if you really like the song and as I’ve said before, you can learn any song no matter what your level of playing if you want to learn it bad enough. The song has kind of a techno feel and will sound a little different if you’re playing it on an acoustic guitar. This one would also be a great one to practice your single note picking.
