The Blessing of Online Guitar Lessons

The Blessing of Online Guitar Lessons

Setting out to play a new instrument can be daunting. When looking at the fretboard of a guitar you’re likely to have your head spinning attempting to understand the theory behind the whole thing.

In all truth, the guitar is not an easy instrument to understand. Maybe the arrogant won’t say it, but there’s some funky math involved in the layout of the fretboard. Getting your head wrapped around it can truly be a mind game. This is not to even mention the pain you’re most likely getting on the tips of your fingers and your wrist as you flop and try to strum.

Guitar In A Nutshell Review

Guitar In A Nutshell Review

by John Sizemore

guitar in a nutshell
It is not very often that a new online guitar course comes along that I am all that impressed with.  Most of the high quality online guitar courses offer pretty much the same thing these days.  They for the most part teach the basic fundamentals, have special tools, chord libraries and qualified instructors.  However, there has become available some beginning guitar lessons that I have been extremely impressed with.  That is “Guitar In A Nutshell”.

Private Guitar Lessons

Private Guitar LessonsUp until about 10 years ago private guitar lessons were the only way to go. Let’s take a look at the outline. Your first lesson will start with the instructors’ curriculum and your goals as a guitarist. He/She will take you through basic music theory, chord theory and you will move on into playing scales and barre chords and if you’re lucky you may even have an instructor that will teach you your favorite songs from time to time. This method is probably the best for one on one individual instruction. The instructor will guide you through exactly where to place your hands, timing and strumming progressions. However, private guitar lessons can be very expensive and time consuming. You will be practicing the same thing over and over again for at least 15 min/day until the instructor feels you’re ready to move on which can cost you upwards of $40/hour. Plus, you will have to fit these lessons into your tight schedule. All in all it might be a good place to start to see if you’re disciplined enough to learn guitar.
