Lesson 17- Playing Guitar Licks
Ref: Pentatonic Scales
Am Pentatonic Guitar Licks
In This Lesson Marty from Next Level Guitar goes over what I believe to be the most popular guitar lick in both rock n roll and blues. It was the first lick I learned after learning all the pentatonic scale patterns up and down the neck in different keys. This lick is widely used amongst lead guitar players and somehow never gets old. I really like the explanation of the lick that Marty gives. Also, it’s the only good video that I’ve found that basically shows you several different licks within the same box shape.
G Major & Gm Pentatonic Guitar Licks
This is a great lesson primarily centered around pentatonic guitar licks. However, Marty from Next Level Guitar also goes into G Major also. This one is really fun. Here you will learn how to use open strings within your licks to give you an awesome sound. This is widely used and has so many combinations that you can utimatley come up with original sounding licks. This is a must see and a must to have in your lead guitar arsenal!
Am Chromatic Pentatonic Guitar Licks
Here DJ Phillips from Jamplay.com teaches a great movable chromatic pentatonic lick that in un-conventional. When you’re learning and playing lead guitar it is always a good idea to try and come up with licks that move in and out of the basic minor pentatonic scales. This will give you your own style and uniqueness
