How To Use A Capo
The Capo Explained….
A capo is a small metal and rubber device used to change the key of any song. This is done by placing pressure on all six strings on any fret you chose. Also the capo can be used to change keys with out changing chord shapes. Take a look at the chart below. This will give you an explanation of how the capo is used to change keys. When you play an “A” for example. If the capo is on the first fret then you are actually playing a “Bb”. See how this works? Fun Huh?!

Other Uses For The Capo…
The capo is also often used to give you different sounds. When you place the capo higher (towards the body) on the fret board you can experiment with different tones.
Beginners will often use the capo when they only know a few chord shapes. This way they can still play their favorite songs without learning a bunch of different chords. Again, check out the chart below to see how this works.
