Rogue Honduran Mahogany
Rogue Honduran Mahogany Review
I’ve owned a Guild that is my favorite guitar since 1989 that has the exact color and finish of the Rogue Honduran Mahogany. So, I just had to check out this guitar to see if the reviews and rumors were true. I mean really!? People are saying it plays just like a Martin. I don’t know if you know anything about Martins? But, they’re pretty much the most popular and expensive acoustics made. They’re kind of the Mercedes of acoustic guitars
. Well, I do have to say I was pretty impressed. Here I’ll go into detail of what I thought of this little dreadnought.
“Wow! I just love the sound of this guitar! It has great resonance. Not what you’d expect from a full laminate guitar”

Wow! I just love the sound of this guitar! It has great resonance. Not what you’d expect from a full laminate guitar. The guitar comes with light gauge strings that to me sound a little tinny. I replaced the strings with a larger gauge and loved the low tones I was getting. I was really shocked that you could get such a sound for under $100. Many of the reviews say it rivals higher end guitars. But, I’d say it does come close. If you’re a beginner you’re going to love the sound of this guitar! Even with my advanced ear I loved it too.

Absolutely superb right out of the box! If I blind folded you? You wouldn’t be able to tell the difference with some of the higher end Martin’s. I was really surprised. With the stock lighter gauge strings the guitar is very light to the touch with no buzzing of the strings. I checked the intonation and it was spot on. I’m still scratching my head is to how they can sell this guitar for under $100? Just love the action.

“I’ve been playing guitar for over 20 years. The guitar that I currently own is a $4000 Breedlove custom guitar. Bottom line, I know guitars. For $100, this Rogue Mahogany guitar rivals $3000 Taylors and Martins”

“I bought this guitar as my second acoustic guitar. My first is a much more expensive Takamine guitar. This guitar sounds just as good as my other. It has a beautiful finish, sounds great, and a great price”

“Got it in November 2010. Came with D’Addario strings. Very crisp tone with balance. Great for recording because it doesn’t boom on low end. Highly recommend”
